I have a family friend who worked at our local Salvation Army headquarters as a a secretary. This particular office took all the Christmas donations for children in need, put them in a warehouse, and on a designated day the staff and their friends picked through them all, taking whatever they wanted. She saw people hauling away bikes donated for specific families. Some local children had hundreds of dollars of gifts donated in their name, and on Christmas they received three cheap things, items likely not even from the person who sponsored them.
My friend quit, and I’ve not given them a dime of my money since then.
Y’all be giving money to ao3 and “funny-man” tumblr users to eat crayons but not to struggling sex workers, homeless ppl, trans ppl, lgbt ppl or people of color who beg for some money on here, and yell at them to get a job and rub it in their faces. Okay. Die then.
So for some reason I don’t fully understand, my last visit to my doctor wasn’t covered by my insurance and I have to pay $300 out of pocket for what I expected to be a $30 visit. I’m working part-time and doing some freelance work, but $300 is far more than I can afford to pay. I’ve been putting off paying this, since I assumed it must have been a mistake, but after calling around it seems I’m stuck with this balance.
If anyone can help me out with this I would seriously appreciate it. It’s likely that I won’t be able to seek treatment at this office until my past-due balance is settled, which is problematic given that I’m on a few different meds that I need my doctor’s approval to refill, as well as regular blood work.
